Mentorship is a proven lever for professional success but few college students have the connections to create these relationships on their own. By pairing each Neal Kocurek Scholarship recipient with a mentor well before graduation, unknown avenues of possibility become real opportunities.

Pairing scholars began in 2009, and since that time, 93% of scholars have completed their degrees. We credit this retention rate to a variety of factors, but particularly the support and guidance provided by mentorship.

Mentors agree to a four-year commitment alongside their mentee during the student's undergraduate college journey. Learn more about the program here.

Mentor Roles & Responsibilities:

Reach out to your mentee at least once per semester and try to meet up either in-person or virtually
Encourage and support your student in school. We encourage you to get to know your mentee, learn their academic goals and cheer them on along the way.
Assist your student in networking and internship opportunities, when possible.
And, most of all, HAVE FUN! The scholarship program hosts one or more in-person events each year to connect students with their mentors in person.
